Woven Process
Once the direction of the thesis was set, I interviewed a dating couple on their respective recollection of an emotionally-charged event: their first “I love you” exchange.
The recorded interviews were then analyzed and edited to create the text of the interactive storybook. The challenge of this project was visually creating a distinction between the two voices while also visually representing the experience of both sides of the story.
To emphasize key differences in the two perspectives as well as help the reader navigate through the escalating storyline, I employed various paper-craft methods to make the book interactive. Woven became a pop-up book for adults, a playful unfolding of complex emotions.
